안녕하세요. 

개학한 지 어느덧 두 달이 되었습니다. 한글반과  문화반 수업이 자리를 잡고 수업을 이어가고 있습니다. 

이번 소식지에서는 11월, 12월에 있을 학교 행사에 대해 안내해 드리겠습니다. 추워지는 날씨에 건강 유의하시기 바랍니다. 11월 10일, 12월 22일과 29일, 1월 5일은 휴교입니다. 

Hello. 

Two months have passed since the new school year started. All Korean language and cultural classes have settled in and have been running as scheduled. This newsletter introduces the school events scheduled for November and December. Wishing you all a good health as it is getting colder. 

There is no school on Nov. 10, Dec. 22 & 29, and Jan. 5. 

11월 3일 캐나다 현충일 기념행사 Remembrance Day Event: November 3, 12:30pm-1:30pm, Cafeteria, Grant Park High School

캐나다 현충일을 맞아 한글학교에서는 작년에 이어 한국전쟁에서 싸워주신 참전용사와의 만남을 진행합니다. 전교생과 학부형을 비롯한 한글학교 공동체가 참전용사들과 한인단체장들과 노인회원을 모시고 참전용사들의 용기와 희생에 감사하며, 장렬하게 전사한 분들을 추모하는 시간도 갖습니다. 학부모님들의 많은 참여와 관심 부탁 드립니다. 

***문화반 수업은 취소됩니다. 행사에 참석 못하시는 분께서는 1시 30분에 지하 카페테리아로 자녀분들을 데리러 오시기 바랍니다.

To celebrate Remembrance Day, Canadian veterans from the Korean War are invited to meet with our students at the Korean School. In the presence of Korean community leaders and members of the Korean Seniors Association, the School community extends its sincere appreciation to the Korean War Veterans and commemorates those who sacrificed their lives for Korea during the war. Furthermore, students will have an opportunity to listen to a veteran’s experiences and show their gratitude to the veterans. Parents’ participation is kindly appreciated.

***All cultural classes are cancelled. Those who cannot attend the event can pick up the children at 1:30pm at the basement cafeteria.

11월 유치, 초급반 학부모/성인반 학생 상담 Parents/Adult Class-Teacher Meeting, November

11월 중에 유치1, 2반, 초급1, 2반 학부형님들과 성인반 학생들은 담임교사와 상담시간을 갖습니다. 중 고급반은 11월 중에 상담이 진행됩니다. 자녀분들의 수업성과나 학교생활에 대해 담임교사와 공유하며 의견을 제안하거나 나누실 수 있습니다. 학부형님들의 의견이 자녀분들의 보다 효율적인 수업진행에 도움이 될 수 있사오니 바쁘시더라도 학교에 오셔서 담임교사와의 면담을 꼭 가질 수 있도록 부탁 드립니다. 학교에 오실 수 없는 분들께서는 담임교사와 전화로 면담을 해 주시기 바랍니다. 성인반 학생들도 마찬가지로 담임교사와의 면담을 통하여 학생들의 수업성취도가 어느 정도인지 그리고 전반적인 수업에 대해 의견을 나눌 수 있습니다. 학생들의 의견이 담임교사들이 앞으로도 계속 수업을 진행해가는데 큰 도움이 될 수 있으니 적극적인 참여 부탁 드립니다. 

Parents for students of Kindergarten 1&2, Introductory 1&2 classes and Adult Class students will have a meeting with the homeroom teachers throughout November. Intermediate and Advanced class parents will have parent-teacher meeting in Novemverl. Parents and adult students share students’ performances and accomplishments in class. This meeting also offers an opportunity to exchange suggestions between the teachers and the parents on the one hand and adult students on the other. The feedback of parents and adult students can be useful for teachers to develop more effective teaching approaches. Therefore, it is highly recommended that parents and adult students come to the meetings at their convenience and share ideas with the teacher. Meetings can be held via phone, should the parents have no time to come to the school.

12월 15일: 제1차 시험 Midterm Test, December 15

12월 15일에 1학기 동안 배웠던 내용들에 대한 평가시험이 있으니 댁에서 잘 준비시켜 주시기 바랍니다. 평가 후에 간단히 1학기 종강파티가 각 반별로 있습니다. 간단한 간식과 음료는 학교에서 제공됩니다. 1월 12일이 개학일이오니 참고하시기 바랍니다.

The midterm test is scheduled for December 15, 2018. Please help your children with the class materials taught during the first term. After the test, there will be an in-class term-end party. Snacks and drinks will be provided by the School. Note that the school re-opens on January 12.
